Random Dying Bamboo

Any reason why? All goes great for two years, and then one day I see this:

I didn't know it was possible for bamboo to die, even when you try really hard.

Oh! And the tooth came out :)

Teri, You should! I tried to get a replacement but I need a 24" (I think) and all they had were 12" ones at the grocery store.

Hey, Shelley! It started dying as soon as I got back from California. Wondering if my husband put some dish soap in there or something.
Did the tooth fairy remember to come?

I decided to toss the failing piece, rinse the vase and put all new water in. But now I'm thinking I may do it again, just to be safe.
Along with scrubbing the kitchen.

That lookds really cool! I think it can die because the air in your house. I know the same thing happened to my mom's plant.
