The Month Ahead

Happy Monday! Does everyone take time to think about what they're looking forward to in the time ahead? So here's a secret...

Doing this is really fun!

So the Texas Sweethearts decided to talk about it in front of the camera. For your viewing pleasure, here we are:

*****

In other news, we saw THE LIGHTNING THIEF on Sunday. Thoughts? There's the obvious it's nowhere near as good as the book, but movies rarely are. Overall, I enjoyed it. And did Uma Thurman seriously take the cake as Medusa? She alone was worth seeing the movie for.

***

Final note because a few people have asked: The airplane/IRS building thing is only a couple miles from my house. We drive by every day. Traffic is still pretty slow from people slowing down, and across the street, people are stopping to get out and look. So sad and eerie.

Love the vlog, what a fun, talented panel in Virginia you will be in!
I'm looking forward to seeing The Lightning Thief with my son!
And whoa, that you live so close to the IRS building. What a tragedy.

Great video! Looks like an awesome panel. I'm glad you enjoyed Lightning Thief - one of these days I'll have to see it!

PJ Hoover said...

Lois, when you see it, let me know what you think!

Thank you, Tricia! You made my day!

Thanks, Kelly! And you and your son will like the movie.
Yes, such a tragedy and so close to home.

Thanks, Chris! Are your kids excited to see it (the movie, not the panel)?

The 13-year-old saw the movie on opening day - and wasn't impressed. The 10-year-old doesn't want to see the movie - says it will ruin his imagination for the book. I'd like to see it - but under those circumstances, not sure when I'll get the chance. (They'd probably both be really excited to see the panel!)

Dang, PJ, do you bleach your teeth or what?? ;) Have a great time on the panel and in VA. Hopefully, no snow storms by then!

PJ Hoover said...

It was a bit below average on the impressive scale, Chris. Seriously, Medusa made the movie for me.

LOL, Amy! No bleaching here. Maybe it is the lighting in my office :)

I felt so sad for Rick Riordan. They sure butchered his book. And such a wonderful, rich & creative book too!

I've never seen an adaptation that changed so much from book to movie. :(

OMG, I was thinking the same thing, Angela. The book is SO much better. I mean I know books normally are, but in this case, it was a major difference.

Your panel is filled with awesome writers!!! I wish I could come.

I haven't seen the Lightening Thief yet, but Uma Thurman as Medusa is *definitely* a good reason to rush out and see it. :)

You guys are fabulously vlog worthy and photogenic! And Tricia - say hi to Suzy Williams and Barrie Summy for me! :) (You can say hi to everyone actually, but those two will respond with actual recognition ! heh)

I wish you could come, too, Tabitha! Let me know what you think of the movie.

LOL, I will say hi for you, Joy! And I adored your book! I keep meaning to tell you that. In fact, I'll head to FB and do just that!

WOW ... what an awesome panel that's going to be! Wish I could be there! Nicely done video. So sad about the plane/IRS building ... breaks my heart.

I read a review that said Uma was the only worthwhile part of the movie. I think I'll wait for cable.

I wish you could be there, too, Kelly! And I'm getting totally psyched for the panel!

LOL, Lenore! A good decision (unfortunately).
