Five on a Friday

Happy Friday! I hope you all have fun weekend plans ahead.

My five for the week:

1) I am totally in love with the Egg Timer. I've been setting it and closing all other Internet stuff and writing, and it's working great. The one I use is here.
(no, I don't have a Lego Egg Timer, but we've got a strong Lego focus around the house. I may have to invest in this cutie!)

2) I adore watching my kids Easter Egg hunt! But, yikes! I can't find Cadbury Creme Eggs at our HEB. They seriously need to order more. This, aside from the kids, is a highlight of Easter.

3) I'm really looking forward to TLA! I'll be signing on Thursday, April 15th, and the same day is our Texas Sweethearts reception at 3:00.

4) I'm doing some script writing for our elementary school television station. How fun! About one minutes skits which will run for the next two weeks. I think I may even do a guest appearance :)

5) Good reading done lately. Good writing done lately. I managed to get 9000 words written in the last week (it's the egg timer). Also, I've critiqued some awesome pieces recently and am looking forward to two months full of critiques ahead.

Have a great weekend!

9000 words is awesome. I'm working on cutting a few thousand from my manuscript and then hopefully it'll be finished. Enjoy the holiday.

Cutting is great, too, Natalie! It's second best to brand new words :) It's the stagnant times that are challenging.
Enjoy, too!

Thanks, and, wow on 9K.
Happy Easter!

The Egg timer is rocking my writing world, Tricia. I love it!
Happy Easter to you, too!

Great word count! *falls in love with Lego egg timer* I seriously need one of those now. :p Good luck on your signing!

Isn't it darling, Danyelle! Thanks, and have a great weekend!

An egg timer! Is that all I need to write 9,000 worlds? What a great idea. I also need a Cadbury egg. Now.

Wow! Good job on all the cool things you are doing. Enjoy Easter. I know I will!

9000...woo-hoo! And hooray for Cadbury Creme Eggs. My only problem is I start buying them the second they come out in February, and I'm a bit sugared out by Easter. But that is the best kind of chocolate problem to have in my opinion.

Eggs and an egg timer is all it takes, MG. At least it worked this week :)

Thanks, Kayeleen! I'm looking forward to the weekend!

So, Karen, you are the reason my grocery no long has them! It's you February Easter Candy people :)
I'll have to search a bit, but I'm bound and determined to find some.

Congrats on all those words!

That egg timer of yours seems to come with some serious power--nice job! Thanks for the reminder that I still have to assemble the easter basket--all the goodies are here, just in assorted places. Have a great weekend!

PJ Hoover said...

Thanks, Christy! I love it!

Becky, I still need to do my basket shopping. Oy.

I love that timer! My kids would love it.

PJ Hoover said...

Mine would, too, Laura! It's perfect!

Good stuff!! :)

Still no C C Eggs?? Oh no.. Sending hugs.

Enjoy!!

PJ Hoover said...

I know! It's so sad, Keri!

Just wanted to second your Cadbury Creme Eggs love. I had surgery when I was in middle school, right before Easter, and I still remember that they were the only thing I wanted to eat afterwards. Every year, I eat at least one, as kind of a toast to that.

Happy Friday!

9000 words? That's really good. And that was all because of an egg timer? Whuda thunk?

PJ Hoover said...

Jen, I'm thrilled to say I found the Cadbury eggs today! It is a really good thing they only sell them once year :)

Seriously, Heather. That egg timer is awesome!

9000 words is great. An egg timer, eh?

PJ Hoover said...

Exactly, Marcia! It added up nicely :)

That is a great word count, PJ! I'm going to join everyone else and say I should get myself an egg timer.

Happy, Happy Easter!

Oh, that egg timer is an excellent (I considered typing egg-cellent, but decided against it:) idea. I might have to try this one--9,000 words? CONGRATS!

PJ Hoover said...

I'm hooked, Miriam! It's like a magic egg timer.

Egg-cellant is perfect, Lisa and Laura! in all fairness, though, this is one of those WIPs that is flowing (as opposed to the last one).

Your blog is super fun!!! Awesome about the egg time and the 9,000 words! That's awesome!

PJ Hoover said...

Thanks, Jen! I was psyched about the word count!

I've written short scripts and love it...too bad it't not paid, steady work. Alas, volunteering can be fun. I hope you found your candy eggs!

PJ Hoover said...

I did find the candy eggs, Anita! And I've eaten one or two so far :)
The scripting is way fun. Kind of a nice writing exercise.
