Getting Inspired

Inspired by my daughter and her monster letter writing, I tried to make my own monster name. I figure next time I'll make it a bit more random, but at least it's colorful and it's a start.

Hope you all are having a great summer! I'm still here in Virginia, looking forward to a book club this Sunday, the Dulles Air & Space museum tomorrow, possibly the zoo on Friday (my kids want to attempt to see the panda). Then it's the beach for a few days next week. I'll be around and about on the blogosphere and back in full force on July 19th!

On a happy note, by son read and loved book three in the THE FORGOTTEN WORLDS TRILOGY: THE NECROPOLIS (which happens to be available for pre-order, btw). He said it is the best yet! Seriously, I'm just happy he read it. I had some tough competition with ALVIN HO and THE MAGIC THIEF, but I scraped my way in there.

Happy Wednesday!

Hey! Another book (almost) out! Congrats! Enjoy your vacation in Virginia. I just got back from Berlin. Off to Vermont College next week where I may need monster letters to read anything after ten days of nonstop reading. Yeesh. The old eyes are aging.

Monster names--what a cool idea! I'm kind of shy and wouldn't think of making big, crazy letters of my name, but I think that it could be liberating to do so. And fun, so I'm gonna do it. Thanks and congrats on book three!

Glad you're enjoying the vacation. It's gotta be pretty hot up there slogging around DC. Then again. You come from TX. Maybe it's not so bad.

We'll have to try the monster names, too. Cool one.

Yes, another book, Stacy! I'm looking forward to it. It was great talking today, and have fun at Vermont!

Tricia, you can officially share my name :) And you know, it really is liberating to do stuff like that.

Yes, try the monster name, Lois! It's fun. And so true. Compared to Texas, it isn't that bad.

Thanks, Natalie! I hope you and your daughter both like it!

Thanks, Debasmita!

It is hot, Lynn. My parents keep commenting on it :)

Okay, PJ? I'm SOOOO glad you found me because I'm thrilled to have met YOU! I looked up your Forgotten World series at Amazon and promptly bought them. My son devours books like they're breakfast, lunch and dinner and these sound right up his alley, thank you!

Now, back to your blog . . . I love the monster names. YOURS is gorgeous and well, I just love the name Lola and I think I need to find a way to write a character named Lola STAT.

You are a true artist. Seriously. I'm in awe of anyone who can draw in a way that you know what it is.

Don't you love seeing your kids read? My own kiddos are bookaholics, and I eat up every bit of it.

I've loved the name Lola ever since Copacabana came along :)

Hey Adrienne! Long time! I hope you're having a great summer, too!

Thanks, Terry! I'll be looking for your monster name, too!

Thanks, Laura! I was very happy he liked it. He didn't want to put it down.

Make sure you post your monster names, Anne! I think we have that same I Spy monster book which I love :)

Carol, you should do your name! It's such a beautiful name and would make great fodder for monsters!

Aw, thanks, Beth! Next time we'll have to meet in between somewhere. I'm sure 2011 will be our year to finally see each other in person!

Thanks, Courtney! I'm just happy he wasn't driven by guilt to read it :)
