Shadows

So I'm back from vacation (of which I'll blog more about here and there). It was OSUM to get away but now it's so nice to be back in the swing of things.

I take TONS of pictures while away, and with the heat wave on the East Coast, shadows fascinated me.

I'm not sure what it is about them that's so intriguing, but maybe because we feel like we can't see the entire picture and they leave so much open to mystery.

We can see postures and hints of sizes and surroundings, but we don't know much about who is behind the shadow.

Hope you all are having a great week, and keep an eye out for shadows.

Can I just say "fantastic"? I love photography and will sit and look at bloggers' slideshows from vacations even. Yours is the most original. Welcome back!

Wow. I not only love the mystery of the shadows but the textures that are in those photos. They are beautiful and fascinating. Glad you had a great time.

I love the silhouette pictures!

So. Cool.

I love shadows. I especially love them in landscapes. Landscapes without shadows just look flat and uninteresting. Shadows add mystery and depth and magic.

Welcome home!

Me, too, Becky! It's just fun to image.

Thanks, Amy! It's great to be back!

You're welcome, LeishaMaw! Thank you for visiting.

Thank you, Tricia! I love the varied backgrounds, too, and they were even more fun in person.

Thanks, Victoria!

Shadows are awesome, Miriam. Now I just need to remember to put them in my writing. Thanks!

Do you know the game "Don't Step on My Shadow"? (It might have different names elsewhere.) It's kind of like tag, but everyone is It. If the head of your shadow gets stepped on, you're out; the object is to be the last person left in the game!

Anyway, that's what I think of whenever I see shadows on the ground. =)

I can't wait to see your pics, Kelly!

I've never played the shadow game, Enbrethiliel, but it sounds like a blast! I definitely will. Thanks!
