ABOUT THE BOOKS:
THE EMERALD TABLET:
Benjamin and his best friend Andy are different from normal. They love being able to read each other's minds and use telekinesis to play tricks on other kids. In fact, they are getting all set to spend their entire summer doing just that when Benjamin's mirror starts talking. Suddenly, Benjamin's looking at eight weeks of summer school someplace which can only be reached by a teleporter inside the ugly picture in his hallway.
And that's the most normal thing he does all summer.
THE NAVEL OF THE WORLD:
At the end of summer school, Benjamin was given one task—find his missing brothers. Should be easy right? But Benjamin can't locate a trace of them anywhere. Then he finds a mysterious file written in ancient Lemurian with his name on it, which wouldn't be so weird except the file happens to be several thousand years old. Who would have known about Benjamin that long ago? And then Benjamin and his friends begin to wonder, have they been looking not in the wrong place, but in the wrong time?

10 Things: A Week in Review
So I've been buried with edits for my KING TUT story (title still TBD, coming Fall 2014 from Starscape/Tor), but I'm taking a quick break to recap some of my highlights from the last week!
1) Texas Book Festival!
I had a blast on the GIRL POWER(S) panel this year at Texas Book Festival! Such a great crowd. I always love seeing the turnout for the festival. So many families come out to spend the day, sharing in the love of reading!
2) School Visit/Book Fair
I spoke to 4th-8th grade students this past Friday at Annunciation Orthodox School in Houston. Great faculty, parents, and students!
3) Fun Football
I ran into fellow Austin author Donna Bowman Bratton at my son's football game. Our teams played each other.
4) What I'm reading right now!
5) A random study in what keys I use most on my keyboard :)
6) I learned Rainbow Loom!
8) What does the Fox Say?
I snagged my daughter's new t-shirt before she could wear it. Such a catchy song...
9) Houston BookRave!!!!
This was such a fun event! I got to hang out with a bunch of fellow authors and readers all day, talk about books, and sign books!
I case you are dying to catch me out and about somewhere, my events for the remainder of the year are below. Please come see me!
